About WEHHS

Mission

The mission of World Exchange for Health and Human Services (WEHHS) is to mobilize medical personnel, equipment, supplies, and educational materials to developing countries, while promoting a cultural exchange between the US and the developing world.

History

World Exchange for Health and Human Services was started in 2003 by Dr. Bruce Lawrence in Oakland, CA. While still practicing full time, Dr. Lawrence enlisted the help of various volunteers to assist him in shipping 20’-40’ containers to Dubrovnik, Croatia; Ulanbaatar, Mongolia; Agadir, Morocco; Amaan, Jordan; Cochi, India; Santiago, Chile; Quito, Ecuador; and Santiago de Cuba. As of 2006, WEHHS has a permanent team of volunteers in place who are committed to and enthusiastic about extending the reach of WEHHS.
